Installing the Network Link Conditioner for iOS
Step by step guide about how to set it up
There are a few steps required for the Network Link Conditioner to be installed. To install the Network Link Conditioner for Xcode, you need to open Xcode > Open Developer Tools > More Developer Tools … Your Xcode application will open a browser for you to sign into Apple. After signing in, your browser will show you the following prompt:
Since the Network Link Conditioner was released with Xcode version 7.2, the packet with which its bundled is called “Hardware IO Tools”. At the time of writing this guide the most updated version of Network Link Conditioner, however, is to be found in “Additional Tools for Xcode 10.2”, which is the most recently updated packet. If you read the bylines, Network Link Conditioner is on the fourth line from the top on the far right hand corner. Make sure it is there. After locating the packet, double click it so that it downloads. It will trigger a download for a .dmg
file. Navigate to /Downloads
where you double click again. The following window crops up:
